Cut out leaves from construction paper or card stock with each child's name on the leaves. Students should each record random acts of kindness they want to do for their peers and then attach the leaves to the tree using tape or glue. You can also hang up small cookies with strings or yarn to make ornaments to decorate the tree! Encourage your students to complete the little acts of generosity they have recorded throughout the week. Once each act has been completed and the student is done, ask them to remove their leaf from the tree, signifying that their act was successful! This activity does not only encourage respect and love within your class, but provides a fun and unique opportunity for your students show their appreciation to one another. What makes this game special is the fact that it can be utilized beyond just Valentine's Day! It can be adapted for other occasions such as Thanksgiving or Christmas lets you create your own Tree of Love every time!
